When you look for 24-hour caregivers in Pasadena, CA, the first question is usually who will actually be in the home. At Right at Home, two groups share the work: care managers, who plan and oversee your care, and caregivers, who provide it.
Below is how each role works, how caregivers are screened and matched, and which setup fits live-in care and which fits 24-hour shift care.
Care managers plan your care and stay reachable. They can be contacted 24 hours a day, every day of the year, so a late-night question does not have to wait until morning.
The office team behind them includes Andy Cohen, owner of the Pasadena and West Covina offices, and Vanessa Soto, Client Care Manager. Blanca Doperoy, Caregiver Development Coordinator, and Rocio Fierro, HR Recruiter & Generalist, work on bringing caregivers into the team.
Your first step is a free in-home assessment. Someone from the team visits to look at your loved one's basic needs and the home environment, then builds a care plan around their history, routines and preferences. You review the plan together and change it as you see fit. To start, see how to begin care.

Every caregiver is screened, including background and reference checks. Caregivers are bonded and covered by liability insurance.
Matching is personal. We look at interests, personality and the services needed, and each caregiver receives a thorough orientation on your loved one's needs before starting.
After each visit, caregivers write detailed notes, so you know what happened. Supervisory staff also visit the home from time to time, and the care team is trained to notice and report changes so care can be adjusted quickly.
If the match does not feel right, one phone call is enough to ask for a different caregiver. Read more on the caregiver schedule and shifts page.
When memory or thinking changes are part of the picture, care is provided by caregivers certified in the Cognitive Support Program, who have completed 12 hours of specialized training.
The assessment visit and personal care plan are where we talk through what a typical day looks like, including nights, so the right setup can be chosen with you.
These two options are often confused, and neither means one person working nonstop.
A side-by-side look is on our live-in vs. 24-hour comparison page. Which one fits is decided at the free assessment.
We support care and consultations in English, Korean, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. The office team speaks English and Spanish.
Caregivers go to Pasadena, West Covina and Covina and the nearby San Gabriel Valley, as well as Los Angeles, Glendale, Azusa, Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino. See the service areas for details.
